Halloween is over :( so in my book it's Christmas time! (Yes I'm one of those people) :) Pandora is set to Christmas and we hit up Lowe's last night to get some Christmas lights and the light spheres I drooled over last year (but they were sold out of...). Unfortunately, Brandon has set strict guidelines that our house may not be lit until the day after Thanksgiving. Boo....... But, he will probably string them up soon so it's not too cold. I also may have purchased a wreath and "Let it Snow" window stickies....I'm terrible! But don't worry, my house is still in full fall mode and I've got the extra Halloween candy sitting right next to me (numm num num) :) All is good :) Speaking of Halloween, wasn't Zoey cute in her "Rufferee" costume?
She really doesn't appreciate being in dog clothes, but it was worth it. One trick or treater was adamant that she was a prisoner though...hahaha!
Anyways, we've gotten a lot done around the house lately....
First off, the promised picture of Zoey in her sandbox (she is so spoiled...)
The next big project Brandon took on was building us a nice fire pit area.
First fire (the christening...haha) was before Brandon was done with the area...people had "reclined" fireside seating!
I really appreciate all of the hard work Brandon did on this! It is so nice to be able to have a campfire at home and make s'mores.....lots of s'mores ;)
Another update from a previous post....I FINALLY got the pictures for our frames in the hallway! People were beginning to think I just liked looking at the "Pottry Barn" logo (and maybe I do....) ha!
I used a picture I took of Brandon's family last Easter, us downtown, and my family up north this summer. Yes I purposely was NOT in his family picture and he's not in mine...I wanted the two families on the outside and our little family in the middle :)
And finally, the biggest project since the new plumbing....painting the basement! Our yucky basement looks SO much better now that it has clean white walls and grey floors!!!
Here are some before pics while Brandon was patching holes:
Sorry if the pics are blurry....
Here are some pics from after the first coat of paint:
And............... The final product!!!
It is so much nicer and much more welcoming. (Can a basement like this be welcoming? I guess when I go down to do the laundry! Ha!)
Next up....building shelves for our bins that are all sitting upstairs in the guest bedroom!
Happy Fall everyone!
