Kennedy - 5 Months

I almost typed in "4 months" instead of 5...I CANNOT believe you are 5 months old ALREADY. Caps necessary. You've had a lot of growth this last month!

Memories from month 5:
-You went in for your 4 month checkup around 4.5 months so I went back and added your stats to your 4 month post. However I'll just add here that you are in the 96th percentile for length (height). It is confirmed, you are a LONG baby! So many people still comment about your length. You look older than you are to many people because of it. Your feet hang over your infant car seat, you don't fit well in your baby bath chair, etc. Future basketball player? ;)
-You are making a slow transition into 9 month (6-9 month and even some 9-12 month) clothes. You need the length!
-We still have disposable diapers that were gifts so we continue to use those overnight. You are still in size 2 but just this week I've started thinking you may be ready for size 3 soon! As for your cloth diapers I just started putting you in some of Blake's old diapers this week too. You're getting bigger!
-On June 24, 2018 you rolled over for the first time! (Back to Belly) You've been working at it for a while. Daddy saw you do it on the play mat while we were getting everyone ready to go for a walk. So far you've only done it on your play mat and not in your crib (knock on wood). I'll never forget when Blake learned and would roll on his belly in the crib and scream until we went up and flipped him back. It was 2 weeks or something before he learned how to roll the other way. You like to sleep on your side though so usually you just roll onto your side and then fall asleep.

-Your strawberry blonde hair has all but disappeared. :( It's just blonde now. At the beginning of this month your hair was pretty thin. Now it's growing back and getting thicker.
-Your cute coos and squeals have morphed into something more barbaric, hahaha! You still have cute coos and squeals but you also have LOUD grunts and sounds of displeasure when you are not being sufficiently entertained (in your opinion). Your favorite place to voice your displeasure is usually restaurants, to everyone else's displeasure. ;) Most of the time you're not crying, just loud whining...I don't know how else to describe it. You are still a very happy, smiley baby...you're just developing a little sass. :)
-To add to the last point, you do not take a pacifier. If anything, a pacifier makes you more mad.
-You have an interest in baby toys now! I actually put a few in the diaper bag because you're officially old enough to want some entertainment when we're out and about. You love the toys on your play mat and the musical toys on your exersaucer too.

-You enjoy being read to! Good thing because mommy's favorite thing to do is read to you and Blake!

-Blake calls you "Girl" or "Baby Girl" 99% of the time. It's pretty funny. "Mom, can we take girl for a walk?" We have confirmed, however, that he does know your name; and it's still pronounced "Kendidy" most of the time.

-We keep you in church with us, as we do with Blake, but you have yet to make it through a full service without me taking you out. You've almost made it a couple of times. You won't sleep and you won't take a pacifier so eventually you get a little fussy and want to eat. Once you decide you're hungry we can't keep you quiet. :)
-You officially have a schedule! You wake up for the day around 7:15, nap from 8:30-10:30ish, nap again 1:00-4:30ish and then go to bed around 7:30. You nurse 5 times a day. This schedule works well for all of us!
-We have a big trip coming up so mommy is trying to think of all of the things we will need to bring to keep everyone happy!
-You still take reflux meds and wear your hazelwood necklace. I ditched the necklace for a day just to see and you spit up more....so we'll leave it for now. I always worry that it pinches your little neck when I adjust it (I can't stand when the clasp creeps to the front).
-You think bathtime is a blast and kick water everywhere! I wear an apron now otherwise I get soaked! And you don't cry anymore when we take you out.
-You are trying so hard to sit up (already!) on your own. It's crazy! In your swing you will pull your head and shoulders up and try to pull your feet. Macho baby!
-If you are in your crib you go to sleep without a fuss. If' we're out and about and you're in the car seat you fight it as much as you can. Usually you will fuss, not cry, loudly for a while and then suddenly it will just be silent because you fell asleep!
-We tried some baby cereal, technically your first food, but you were still pushing it out with your tongue so we quit. Since this post was posted late, due to my computer needing repair, I can share that you started baby food right around 6 months (and LOVED it!).

-You went swimming for the first time in Grandma and Grandpa's pool! You loved it right off the bat. No tears until brother splashed you in the face. Even then you recovered quickly and enjoyed your water time. :)
